The funeral ceremony for the late Dr. Un Yong Kim was held at the Kukkiwon at 8:30 am on October 9, 2017.
The funeral ceremony for Dr. Kim was finished at the Kukkiwon at 10:08 am, participating more than 600 domestic and overseas people for cherishing the memory of the deceased.
In his lifetime, the late Dr. Kim played a leading role in adopting Taekwondo as an official sport for the Olympic Games, and developing Taekwondo to the best martial arts sport after founding both the Kukkiwon and the World Taekwondo.
May he rest in peace.
지난 3일 타계하신 고 김운용 박사 태권도장으로 영결식 거행
9일 오전 8시 30분 고 김운용 박사 영결식이 국기원에서 거행됐다.
600여명의 국내외 추모객들이 모인 고 김 박사 영결식은 10시 8분까지 엄수됐다.
생전에 고 김 박사는 국기원, 세계태권도연맹 창설과 태권도가 올림픽 정식 종목으로 채택되는데 주도적 역할을 하여 오늘날 태권도가 세계 최고의 무도 스포츠로서 그 반열에 올린 일등 공신이다.
삼가 고인의 명복을 빕니다.
