The World Sport Committee (WorldSC President Hyun-Suk SEO, hereinafter referred to as the “Committee”) has established its 7th overseas branch, the Egypt Sport Committee (EgyptSC President Walid Hussein GOUDA, hereinafter “branch”).

The branch signing ceremony was held at the committee office on the 21st (Thursday) at 4 pm with the presence of WorldSC Presidnet Hyun-Suk SEO, World Jump Rope Committee President Hoo-Jun Kim, and Vice Chairman Seong-Won YOON of the Games Commission.

Presidnet Hyun-Suk SEO of the committee said, “I am really happy to visit Korea and conclude a branch agreement in a situation where it is difficult to sign a branch overseas due to the corona virus. In the future, the committee will grow into a truly global organization by expanding its overseas and domestic branches, as well as organizations under sports events. Together with the Egypt branch, we will strive to globalize Taekwondo, develop international sports, and nurture talent.”

Egypt Branch President GOUDA said, “I am honored to be in charge of the first branch of the committee in the Arab world. We will grow together with the committee by planning sports development and new sports programs in Egypt, and we will invite the committee to the Taekwondo competition to be held in Egypt next year. We will also actively participate in the projects promoted by the committee.”

Currently, President GOUDA is the representative of the Egyptian H.G International Taekwondo Foundation. The Taekwondo competition to be held in Egypt next year is also planned and conducted by the Foundation. The committee plans to recruit Korean athletes to participate in this competition.

사단법인 세계스포츠위원회(WorldSC 위원장 서현석, 이하 ‘위원회’)는 해외 7번째 지부인 이집트스포츠위원회(EgyptSC 회장 왈리드 후세인 구다 Walid Hussein GOUDA, 이하 ‘지부’)를 설립했다.

지부 체결식은 21일(목) 오후 4시에 위원회 사무실에서 WorldSC 서현석 위원장과 세계줄넘기위원회 김후준 회장, 윤성원 경기분과위원회 부위원장이 참석했고, 지부에서는 구다 회장과 임원들이 함께한 가운데 열렸다.

위원회 서현석 위원장은 “코로나 인해 해외지부 체결이 어려운 상황에서 직접 한국까지 방문해 지부체결을 하게 되어 진심으로 기쁘게 생각한다. 위원회는 앞으로 해외지부, 국내지부 등 물론 스포츠종목 산하단체까지 확장하여 명실상부한 글로벌 단체로 성장하겠다. 이집트지부와 함께 태권도 세계화, 국제 스포츠발전과 인재 양성에도 힘쓰겠다.”라고 밝혔다.

이집트지부 구다 회장은 “아랍권에 위원회 첫 지부를 맡게 되어 영광으로 생각한다. 이집트 스포츠발전과 뉴스포츠 프로그램을 기획하여 위원회 함께 성장할 것이며, 내년에 이집트에서 열리는 태권도 대회에 위원회를 초대할 것이다. 또한 위원회가 추진하는 사업에 적극 동참할 것이다.”라고 말했다.

현재 구다 회장은 이집트 H.G국제태권도재단에 대표를 맡고 있다. 내년에 이집트에서 개최하는 태권도대회 또한 재단에서 기획하고 진행한다. 위원회는 이 대회에 한국선수단을 모집하여 참가할 예정이다.
