Meanwhile, IMAO is planning to hold an event with the Geumsan World Ginseng Festival in October.

IMAO is an international exhibition event where international students under 20 compete together and it holds 6 international competitions including

International Math Qualifier (IMQ),

International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI),

International Physics Olympiad (IPhO),

International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO),

International Biology Olympiad (IBO),

and International Astronomy Olympiad (IAO).

IMAO’s International Martial Arts Olympiad has been created by Professor Dr. Oh No-kyun (Chung Cheong University) at UNESCO World Heritage Beopjusa Temple in September 2019 and initiated by 100 martial artists to hold inaugural assembly and establish international headquarters at Sejong City.

When President Dr. Oh worked at Chung Cheong University in 1998 as a professor, he came up with an idea of “International Youth Taekwondo and Cultural Tourism Festival” and held the festival every year to lay the groundworks for spreading Taekwondo and Korean cultures all over the world. The Korean local governments also benchmarked on the festival to spread the Korean culture globally. In response, the Korean government designated “International Youth Taekwondo and Cultural Tourism Festival” as one of the 8 national festivals.

IMAO는 2019년 9월 유네스코세계문화유산 보은 법주사에서 오노균 교수(충청대)가 창안하여 무예인 100여 명이 발기하여 창립총회를 개최하고 세종특별자치시에 국제본부(HQ)를 설립했다.

오 총재는 1998년 충청대학교 교수로 재직시 ‘세계청소년태권도문화관광축제’를 창안하여 매년 개최하며 태권도와 한국문화를 전 세계에 알리는 초석을 다졌고 이후 한국의 각 지자체에서 서로 벤치마킹하여 우리 문화를 세계에 알리는 업적을 남겼다. 결국 한국 정부는 ‘세계청소년태권도문화관광축제’를 국가 8대 축제로 지정된 바 있다.
