International Martial Arts Olympiad (IMAO) Gets Corporate Permission
IMAO Sends Demonstration Group to Nantong, China as the First International Project after Corporate Permission
Corporate International Martial Arts Olympiad (President : Dr. Oh no-kyun announced that “IMAO received corporate permission from the mayor of Sejong Metropolitan Autonomous City (Mayor : Chunhee Lee) on last September 24”.
Oh also said that IMAO “sent IMAO International Taekwondo Demonstration Group with 20 best members on September 27” with group leader Wonwoo Im, general manager Hyun Oh, and instructor Yegun Kim as a cooperative project for installing a branch in Nantong, China for the first international project after a corporate permission.
Oh commented that “IMAO has been continuing Taekwondo exchange with the president of Youth Sports Association in Guizhou, China for over the last 20 years” and that the exchange on martial arts including Taekwondo will develop further by sending the demonstration group.
IMAO is the first international organization with the international headquarters on Sejong Metropolitan Autonomous City. Throughout the year, IMAO promotes approval on holding International Martial Arts Olympiad, approving and managing branch and group in each country, international exchange of traditional martial arts and globalization of traditional Taekwondo culture, cultivating and licensing martial artists, north-south martial arts cooperation and exchange, testing traditional martial arts qualification and cultivating international instructor, and supporting martial arts activity for people with disability.
IMAO already established International Martial Arts Training center and held the first International Martial Arts Olympiad in Guam. In upcoming October 12, IMAO will be holding the second International Martial Arts Olympiad on Boeun Songnisan Mountain. In this competition, youth under 20 who did not get university education will be participating from 10 countries including the United States, Japan, and Guam and about 800 youth martial artists will be competing together.
In addition, there will be traditional Okinawa Karate performance, Martial Arts Academy’s poomsae demonstration, and ‘First Martial Arts’ demonstration from A Collection of Martial Arts with Descripbtions registered in UNESCO.
사단법인 IMAO국제무예올림피아드(회장 오노균박사)가 “지난 24일 세종특별자치시장(시장 이춘희)으로부터 법인허가증을 받았다”고 알려 왔다.
그리고는 법인허가 후 첫국제사업으로 중국 남통시에 지부설치를 위한 협력사업으로 'IMAO국제태권도사절'을 임연우 단장, 오현 총감독, 김예건 사범을 지휘부로 구성하여 “20명 최정예시범단을 27일 파견했다”는 것.
오노균회장은 "그동안 중국 귀주성 청소년체육회 려군회장과 20년간 태권도교류를 해왔다“면서 ”이번 시범사절단 파견으로 양국간 태권도등 무예교류가 한층 발전 하게 될 것"이라고 말했다.
한편 (사)IMAO국제무예올림피아드는 세종특별자치시에 국제본부를 둔 첫 국제기구다. 본 기구에서는 국제무예올림피아드 개최승인, 각국지부 및 단체승인과 관리, 전통무예의 국제교류와 전통태권도문화의 세계화, 무예명인육성 및 인증, 남북무예교류협력, 전통무예 자격연수 및 국제사범육성, 장애인무예활동지원등의 사업을 연중 추진한다.
이미 세계무예연수원을 설립하고, 제1회 괌 국제무예올림피아드를 개최한데 이어 오는 10월12일 보은속리산에서 제2회 보은 국제올림피아드를 개최한다. 이 대회에는 미국, 일본, 괌 등 10개국의 20세 이하 대학교육을 받지 않은 청소년들이 참가하고 한국에서 무예청소년 8백여명 등 1천여명이 무예의 기량을 겨룬다.
이 자리에서는 오키나와정통공수도의 연무와 무도아카데미의 품새 시연이 펼쳐지고 유네스코에 등록된 무예도보통지의 '권법'시연이 선보일 예정이다.
한편 첫 국제사업으로 중국 남통시에 시범단을 파견했다.
