 Holding a commemorating event for the publication of  'Taekwondo, the National Sport of Korea' written by G.M Lee Dong Sub, Member of National Assembly.

First Vice Floor Leader of Bareunmirae Party G.M Lee Dong Sub (representing Yongin Gap region) is having a gathering to commemorate the publication of his book 'Kukki Taekwondo'(Korea’s national sports) at 10 a.m. on Oct. 26 at the Meeting Hall of National Assembly.

The book 'Kukki Taekwondo' is a collection of autobiographical stories of Lee Dong Seop which demonstrates his devotion to the development of taekwondo and his efforts to designate the martial art as the national sport of Korea.
  
The book is composed with 380 pages including recommendations of celebrities such as Chairman of the National Assembly Moo Hee Sang, and other key figures in politics and taekwondo community. 
  
The contents of the book include a brief history of taekwondo, the trace of the writer's life with taekwondo, his activities as a lawmaker in the 20th legislature to officially instate taekwondo as a Korean national sport, and finally seeking the development direction of culture and sports through activities in the national legislature.
  
There will be a Q and A session about the course of the writer's life and on other pending issues of taekwondo in the form of a talk with , Yong-Kyu Ahn, Chancellor of Korea National Sport University.

이동섭의원,‘국기태권도’출판기념회 개최
 
태권도를 법률상 ‘國技’로 지정하기 위한 그의 노력과
정치인 이동섭의 발자취가 담겨 -
26일 북콘서트는 한국체육대학교 안용규 총장과의 대담으로 진행 예정 -
 
바른미래당 원내수석부대표인 이동섭 국회의원(용인갑 지역위원장)이 오는 10월 26일 오전 10시 국회의원 회관에서 출판기념회 및 북콘서트를 개최한다.
 
이동섭 의원의 저서 ‘국기태권도’는 한평생 태권도 발전을 위해 헌신한 그의 자전적 이야기로, 태권도를 ‘國技’로 지정하기 위한 그의 끈질긴 노력이 기록되어 있다.
 
구성은 ▲우리나라 태권도의 발자취를 담은 ‘태권도의 길’편, ▲이동섭 의원이 태권도를 만나면서 겪은 삶의 궤적을 담은 ‘국기태권도와 이동섭, 길 위에서 만나다’편, ▲20대 국회 등원 이후 그동안 관습적으로만 여겨져오던 태권도를 법률상‘國技’의 지위에 올려놓기 위한 그의 활약이 담긴 ‘국기태권도 의정활동’편, 그리고 ▲‘의정활동을 통한 문화체육 발전방향을 모색한다’편으로 되어있다.
 
이동섭 의원은 서문에서 “태권도 역사와 진흥, 문화‧예술‧스포츠 분야를 중심으로 한 의정활동, 국제관계에서 스포츠 외교활동을 중심으로 였었다.”며 “이 책을 통해 태권도를 처음 접하는 분들이 태권도에 관심을 가지는 기회가 되었으면 하고, 저의 의정활동기록과 스포츠외교 강국의 부활을 꿈꾸는 제 혼신의 노력을 담아냈다.”고 밝혔다.
 
모두 380쪽으로 구성된 이동섭 의원의 저서‘국기태권도’에는 문희상 국회의장을 비롯해 우리나라 대표적 정치인들과 태권도계 인사들의 추천사가 실려 있다.
 
한편 26일 출판기념회 및 북콘서트는 한국체육대학교 안용규 총장과의 대담 형식으로 이동섭 의원의 발자취와 태권도 현안 등을 묻고 답할 예정이다.
