On the 10th, the 2022 Gyeonggi Provincial Superintendent Taekwondo Competition" hosted by the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, organized by the Gyeonggi Taekwondo Association, Uijeongbu City Sports Association, and OBS Gyeongin TV, was held for the first time in five years." 

At the opening ceremony at 11 p.m., senior vice mayor of Titipun Petrakul, Pattaya,  And the Minister of Finance and the Superintendent of Education Thailand, visited with four officials and a bright smile all the time. 

Petrakul, the vice mayor of Petrakul, visited to ask for the GTA's special attention and support in promoting and growing Taekwondo to Pattaya, preparing for the "2023 Pattaya International Open Taekwondo Competition." She said.

Meanwhile, Pattayashi signed a formal 2019 MOU with GTA. In this MOU, Pattayashi decided to promote Taekwondo as a regular class at 13 elementary and middle schools with the support of GTA, and based on personality education, one of the advantages of Taekwondo, it will be used as a base for supplying traditional Southeast Asian taekwondo along with sports Taekwondo. 

Currently, taekwondo classes are being conducted in the second school, following the fifth school of the eighth school among the 13 municipal elementary and middle schools, and will be expanded to regular classes in the future.

지난 10일 신한대학교 의정부캠퍼스 은혜관 실내체육관에서 경기도교육청이 주최하고 경기도태권도협회, 의정부시체육회, 의정부시태권도협회, OBS 경인TV가 주관(중계방송)하며 사단법인 태권도공제조합, 재단법인 경기도태권도협회가 후원하는 ’2022경기도교육감기태권도대회‘가 5년 만에 개최되었다. 

이날 11시 개막식에 태국 파타야(Pattaya)시 티티푼 페트라쿨(Titipun Pettrakul) 수석 부시장과 재정 부시장, 교육감을 대동하고 시종일관 밝은 웃음을 지으며 특별히 방문했다. 

티티펀 페트라쿨 부시장은 ’’2023파타야국제오픈태권도대회‘를 준비하며 태권도를 파타야에 홍보하고 성장시키는데 GTA의 각별한 관심과 지원을 요청하고자 방문했다.“고 밝혔다.

한편 파타야시는 GTA와 2019 정식 MOU를 체결했다. 이 MOU에서 파타야시는 GTA의 지원을 받아 13개 초․중학교에 태권도를 정규수업으로 추진하기로 하고 태권도의 장점 중 하나인   인성교육을 바탕으로 향후 스포츠 태권도와 함께 동남아 전통 태권도 보급기지로 활용할 방침이다. 

현재는 시립 초․중학교 13개 학교 중 제8학교 제5학교에 이어 제2학교에 태권도 수업이 진행되고 있으며 향후 전체학교에 정규수업으로 확대할 예정이다."

Q; How do you feel about coming to Taekwondo Mother's land? 

A; This is my first time coming to Taekwondo Competition and I’m very pleased and thankful that the Association(Gyeonggi Taekwondo Association) organized everything for us. 

Q: How do you feel about watching the Gyeonggi Taekwondo Association competition today?

A; Today, I’m very excited and it’s my first time attending the competition and we are looking forward to be hosting the competition in Pattaya in March 2023.

Q; What do you think of Taekwondo in Korea?

A; Korea has been promoting Taekwondo very nice in every way and we have been doing their own thing but we share the same goal. So, Taekwondo has been around the world and very famous in some countries as well. 

Q; What kind of relationship do you have with the GTA and what kind of developmental ties do you hope to have in the future?

A; Last but not least, Pattaya and GTA have been in very good relationship together among the Taekwondo and I’m looking forward promote more Taekwondo to make it bigger in Pattaya and remain this relationship last long.

Q; 태권도 종주국에 오신 소감은?

A: 개인적으로 태권도 대회를 참관하는 건 이번이 처음이며, 협회(GTA)측에서 이렇게 대회의 창관의 기회를 주신것에 대해 감사함을 표하고 싶습니다. 

Q: 오늘 경기도태권도협회 대회를 본 소감은?

A: 오늘 이렇게 대회를 참관하게 되어 매우 기쁘며, 2023년 3월 파타야에서 대회를 개최하는 것을 기대하고 있습니다.  

Q; 한국의 태권도를 어떻게 생각하시나요?

A; 한국은 태권도를 모든 방면으로 홍보해왔으며 각자 다른 것을 해왔지만 결국 같은 목표를 가지고 있습니다. 태권도는 전 세계적으로 펴져 있고 많은 국가에서 매우 유명합니다. 

Q; 경기도태권도협회와 어떤 관계를 유지하고 있으며 앞으로 어떤 유대를 희망하십니까?

A; 마지막으로 파타야와 경기도태권도협회가 상당히 좋은 관계를 유지해왔는데, 앞으로 더 적극적으로 태권도를 파타야에 홍보하고 성장시키고자 합니다. 또한 협회(GTA)와의 좋은 관계 역시 지속적으로 유지하고 싶습니다.
