President Supreme Grand master Kim Gyung-Duk Declares Domestic Affairs, Noblesse Oblige, Better Environment for Members, and Textbook for Children’s Taekwondo 

On January 2nd, 2023, 11:00 a.m., Gyeong Gi-Do Taekwondo Association (GTA, President Supreme Grand master Kim Gyung-Duk) held “2023 GTA Kick-Off Meeting” at TaegeukRoom of GTA Office with participation of Planning Department Head Lee Young-Sun, Administrative Department Head Im Jong-Nam, Executive Director Kim Pyung, Standing Director Hwang In-Sik of Taekwondo Mutual Aid Society Association, Standing Director Seo Myeong-Gi of GTA, and executives and employees of GTA.

According to Taekwondo Media, President Supreme Grand master Kim Gyung-Duk had New Year’s address and mentioned “When we planned the business plan last year, we were worried about the number of jury. Fortunately, the number of jury increased remarkably more than we planned thanks to strenuous effort by executives and employees. Thank you so much. We hope all executives and employees continue to work together this year for the great performance just as the last year. We also plan to focus on the domestic affairs and try our best to make the better environment for our members. One of our plans is to make textbooks for children’s taekwondo.” President Supreme Grand master Kim Gyung-Duk also commented that “With our nobles oblige, GTA spreads its value to Korean associations as well as global agencies. I ask all executives and employees to be proud as a member of GTA and share the thoughts and ideas with our GTA.”   

GTA also announced its new policies and projects as follows based on distribution of the traditional Taekwondo (event, promotion test, education, scholarship, welfare, international interaction) :

 - Create Better Environment for Members

- Make Textbook for Children’s Taekwondo

- Distribute Traditional Taekwondo to 30 African Countries

- Hold 2nd International Open GTA Cup Competition” in Tunisia.

President Supreme Grand master Kim Gyung-Duk said, "The Tunisian GTA Cup International Taekwondo Competition will not be held independently like the South American GTA Cup held last year." The government is also very interested in the Tunisian GTA Cup International Taekwondo Competition. It will be a Tunisian GTA Cup international taekwondo competition created by the South Korean government, the Tunisian government and the GTA," he said, expressing his ambition for this year.

Meanwhile, the GTA is the world's largest Taekwondo regional association, consisting of the world's only own office building and currently 20 board members and two auditors, three full-time executives, seven secretariat employees, and 31 cities.A branch of 2,562 members of the military association is organized, and the foundation Gyeonggi Taekwondo Association consists of one standing executive and 14 board members. The Taekwondo Mutual Aid Association has one standing executive, six directors, and one office employee.

There are also 169 recipients who receive the world's only monthly welfare pension of 500,000 won.

The executive committee has a basic framework of 302 people, including 17 technical subcommittees, including the chairman, and nine special committees, including the scholarship committee.

경기도태권도협회(회장 김경덕, 이하 GTA)가 2일 오전 11시 수원 소재 GTA 사옥 태극실에서 김경덕 회장을 위시하여 이영선 기획 부회장, 임종남 행정부회장, 김평 전무이사, 황인식 태권도공제조합 상임이사, 서명기 (재)경기도태권도협회 상임이사, GTA 사원 등이 참석한 가운데 '2023년 경기도태권도협회 시무식'을 가졌다.

태권도미디어에 따르면, 김경덕 회장은 신년사를 통해 “지난해 사업계획을 세울 때 심사 인원으로 걱정을 많이 했다. 다행이 임직원 여러분이 혼신의 힘을 다해 생각보다 계획보다 많은 심사 인원이 늘었다. 다시 한번 감사의 말을 드린다. 올해도 모든 임직원은 혼연일체 되어 지난해처럼 좋은 성적을 내시를 기대합니다. 올해는 내치에 신경을 쓰겠습니다. 또한 회원들이 먹고 살기 쉬운 환경을 조성하는데 주안점을 두고 최선을 다하고 몰입하겠습니다. 그중 하나가 ‘어린이 태권도 교과서’ 제작하는 것입니다.”라고 밝혔다.

이어 김회장은 “노블레스 오블리주’ 정신으로 GTA는 대한민국 협회의 산하협회 뿐만 아니라 그것을 넘어서 세계를 향해 프로포즈 하고 있습니다. 임직원 여러분은 늘 자부심과 포부를 가지시고 이러한 생각과 뜻을 같이 해 주시길 바랍니다.”라고 했다.

GTA는 정통 태권도 보급을 기반(경기, 심사, 교육, 장학, 복지, 국제교류 )으로 지난해 정책과 사업을 올해도 이어

- 회원들이 먹고 살기 쉬운 환경을 조성

- 어린이 태권도 교과서 제작

- 아프리카 30개국에 전통 태권도를 보급

- 제2회 GTA컵 국제태권도대회를 튀니지에서 개최을 개획하고 있다.

김회장은 ‘튀니지 GTA컵 국제태권도대회’는 지난해 열린 남미 GTA컵처럼 독자적으로 하지 않을 것이다. 튀니지 GTA컵 국제태권도대회에 정부도 상당한 관심을 갖고 있다. 대한민국 정부, 튀니지 정부, GTA가 함께 만드는 튀니지 GTA컵 국제 태권도대회가 될 것이다.”고 올해 포부를 밝혔다 한다.

한편, GTA는 세계 최대의 태권도계 지방협회로 세계유일의 자체 사옥과 현재 20명의 이사진과 2명의 감사로 구성되어 있고, 3명의 상근 임원과 7명의 사무부처 직원, 31개 시.군 협회의 2,562명 회원의 지부가 조직되어 있고 재단법인 경기도태권도협회에 1명의 상임임원과 14명의 이사진으로 구성되어 있으며, 사단법인 태권도 공제조합에 1명의 상임임원과, 6명의 이사, 사무직원 1명이 있다.

또한 역시 세계 유일의 매월 50만원의 복지연금을 수혜받는169명의  수혜자가 있다.

실행위원회는 의장을 비롯한 17개의 기술전문 분과위원회와 장학위원회를 비롯한 9개의 특별위원회 등 총 302명으 기본 골격을 갖추고 있다.
