2023 Muju Kim Un-Yong Cup International Open Taekwondo Tournament [Holding] 

※ Competition purpose 

Commemorating the will of the founder Kim Un-yong, who established Kukkiwon and the World Taekwondo Federation and adopted taekwondo as an official Olympic event, and laid the groundwork for international sports diplomacy and fostering a wide range of talents at home and abroad to continuously establish itself as a world martial arts sport.

1. Title: 2023 Muju Kim Un-yong Cup International Open Taekwondo Championships 

2. Period: August 2nd (Wed) - 6th (Sun), 2023 / 5 days 

3. Venue: Muju Taekwondowon (1482 Museol-ro, Seolcheon-myeon, Muju-gun, Jeollabuk-do) 

4. Host: Kim Un-yong Sports Committee 

5. Supervisor: Kim Un-Yong Cup International 

Open Taekwondo Organizing Committee 

6. Approval: World Taekwondo Federation (G1) 

7. Sponsors: Jeollabuk-do, Muju-gun, Kukkiwon, World Taekwondo Federation, Asian Taekwondo Federation, Taekwondo Promotion Foundation,

Korea Taekwondo Association 

8. Number of participants: 3,000 first-come, first-served (players)

2023 무주 김운용컵 국제오픈태권도대회 개최 

※ 대회목적 

국기원과 세계태권도연맹을 창설하여 태권도를 올림픽 정식종목으로 채택시킨 김운용 창설 총재의 뜻을 기념하고, 지속적인 세계무도 스포츠로 자리잡기 위해 폭 넓은 국내외 인재양성과 국제스포츠 외교의 기틀 마련
