Supports a Master Fighting Illness — Fourth Public Project This Year

The GTAF Foundation (Chairman Kim Pyeong) continues its mission to improve the welfare and quality of life for Taekwondo practitioners, walking the path of a “Righteous Taekwondo Person (Jeong-in)” through continuous acts of sharing and compassion.

On October 2, under its “Joyful Love Sharing” initiative, GTAF delivered a donation of 2 million KRW(about $1,450) to Master Na Dae-soon of the Bucheon Taekwondo Association, who is battling severe multiple fractures. This marks the foundation’s fourth public welfare activity of 2025, directly fulfilling its founding mission — to enhance the well-being and solidarity of Taekwondo professionals.

Present at the donation ceremony were Chairman Kim Pyeong, Executive Director Lee Young-sun, Directors Kim Jong-ok and Kim Gyu-pil, Secretary General Lee Myung-doo, and Bucheon Taekwondo Association President Koo Bon-gi, among others.

Chairman Kim stated, “We sincerely hope for Master Na’s full recovery. Though modest, this donation represents our heartfelt message of encouragement and hope.” He added, “We are deeply grateful to all the individuals and organizations that make these public service projects possible. GTAF will continue to promote welfare and cultural advancement within the Taekwondo community through sustained acts of giving.”

This latest donation adds to GTAF’s ongoing record of charitable initiatives, which include:

Full funding for African clean water projects,

Medical and living support for financially struggling Taekwondo instructors,

Scholarship and uniform donation programs for youth, and

Welfare assistance for Taekwondo contributors and veterans.

These activities collectively represent GTAF’s long-standing commitment to realizing the true Taekwondo spirit of humanity, respect, and moral integrity.

President Koo Bon-gi of the Bucheon Taekwondo Association shared, “Thanks to GTAF’s generosity, our members gained new courage and hope. To express our gratitude, we recruited 20 new members into the ‘Joyful Love’ initiative.” On the same day, 40 instructors from the Gwangju Taekwondo Association also joined as members, expanding the wave of compassion within the Taekwondo community.

With its steady dedication to service, GTAF is strengthening its position as a public foundation that upholds and spreads the moral essence of Taekwondo the spirit of Jeong-in.

재단법인 GTAF, 병마와 싸우는 지도자에게 후원금 전달, 올해만 네 번째 공익사업

재단법인 GTAF(이사장 김평)가 태권도인의 삶의 질 향상과 복지 증진을 위한 공익활동을 꾸준히 이어가며, 태권도 정신을 실천하는 ‘정인의 길’을 걷고 있다.

GTAF 산하 ‘기쁨해 사랑 나눔’은 10월 2일, 폐쇄성 다부위 골절로 병마와 싸우고 있는 부천시태권도협회 나대순 관장에게 후원금 200만 원을 전달했다.

이로써 GTAF는 올해만 네 번째로 병환 중이거나 어려운 형편의 태권도인을 돕는 공익사업을 이어가며, 재단 설립 취지인 ‘태권도인의 상생과 복지 증진’을 실질적으로 실현해왔다.

이날 전달식에는 김평 이사장, 이영선 상임이사, 김종옥 이사, 김규필 이사, 이명두 사무총장, 부천시태권도협회 구본기 회장, 오지훈 행정부회장, 김형선 상임부회장 등이 참석해 뜻깊은 자리를 함께했다.

김평 이사장은 “병마와 싸우는 나대순 관장의 쾌유를 진심으로 기원드린다”며 “비록 작은 금액이지만 희망과 응원의 메시지를 담아 전달할 수 있어 기쁘다”고 말했다. 이어 “이러한 공익사업이 가능하도록 함께해주신 모든 분들과 단체에 진심으로 감사드리며, 앞으로도 태권도 문화 발전과 인류애 실천을 위한 나눔 활동을 지속해 나가겠다”고 전했다.

이번 후원은 GTAF가 지속적으로 펼쳐온 나눔의 연장선에 있다.

GTAF는 그동안 ▲아프리카 식수 위생사업 전액 기부 ▲국내 저소득층 태권도 지도자 의료비 및 생계비 지원 ▲청소년 장학금 및 도복 기부 캠페인 ▲태권도 유공자 복지후원 등 다수의 사회공헌 활동을 전개해왔다.

이러한 꾸준한 기부행적은 ‘태권도를 통한 인간 존중과 사랑의 실천’이라는 정인(正人) 정신의 구체적 구현이라 할 수 있다.

부천시태권도협회 구본기 회장은 “GTAF의 따뜻한 후원이 큰 용기와 희망을 주었다”며 “이에 보답하는 마음으로 20명의 기쁨해 신규 회원을 모집했다”고 밝혔다. 또한 광주시태권도협회 지도자 40명도 이날 기쁨해 회원으로 함께 가입하며 나눔의 뜻을 함께했다.

GTAF는 앞으로도 태권도인이 서로를 격려하고 돕는 건강한 공동체를 만들기 위해 기부로 이어가는 태권도 정인 정신을 꾸준히 실천할 계획이다.
