Let's soar with the new 50 years of Asian Taekwondo, change and innovation.
Dear Asian Taekwondo family, and dear Taekwondo people!
A hopeful new morning has dawned in 2026. I sincerely wish your home and the future full of dynamic energy and happiness on the occasion of the Year of the Red Horse.
Last year, with your precious support and trust, I took on the heavy responsibility of being the president of the Asian Taekwondo Federation. What I checked while running around the world after taking office was our passion for Taekwondo and our pride that Asia is the center of Taekwondo in the world.
2026 will be the year when the Federation of Korea uses its past achievements as a springboard to set sail for a "new future." To that end, I would like to make three commitments this year.
First, we will lay the foundation for co-prosperity for "One Asia." We will strengthen our support system so that 44 member countries can respect each other's culture, share technology, and develop in a balanced manner without being marginalized. When Asia is united, the world's taekwondo standards are established.
Second, we will reinterpret and innovate the value of Taekwondo in a modern way. We will firmly uphold the traditional martial arts spirit, but we will be reborn as a dynamic sport that communicates with the younger generation through the operation of games that combine AI and digital technologies and the revitalization of e-sports Taekwondo.
Third, we will practice field-oriented communication management. We will lower the threshold at our headquarters and listen to the voices of associations of different countries to implement policies that are practically helpful. We will become a coalition that puts the rights and interests of its leaders and the future of its players first.
Dear Taekwondo family!
Taekwondo's roots are in Asia, and its flowers bloom with your sweat drops. Kim Sang-jin and the Asian Taekwondo Federation will be a strong support for you to work with pride.
Let's all move forward vigorously this year with the spirit of 'unwavering'.

아시아 태권도의 새로운 50년, 변화와 혁신으로 비상합시다.
존경하는 아시아 태권도 가족 여러분, 그리고 사랑하는 태권도인 여러분!
희망찬 2026년 병오년(丙午年)의 새 아침이 밝았습니다. 붉은 말의 해를 맞이하여 여러분의 가정과 앞날에 역동적인 기운과 행복이 가득하시기를 진심으로 기원합니다.
지난해 저는 여러분의 소중한 지지와 신뢰 속에 아시아태권도연맹 회장이라는 중책을 맡게 되었습니다. 취임 후 각국 현장을 발로 뛰며 확인한 것은, 태권도를 향한 우리의 뜨거운 열정과 아시아가 세계 태권도의 중심이라는 자부심이었습니다.
2026년은 우리 연맹이 과거의 성과를 발판 삼아 ‘새로운 미래’를 향해 본격적으로 돛을 올리는 해가 될 것입니다. 이를 위해 저는 올해 세 가지 약속을 드리고자 합니다.
첫째, ‘하나 된 아시아(One Asia)’를 위한 상생의 기틀을 다지겠습니다. 44개 회원국이 서로의 문화를 존중하고 기술을 공유하며, 소외되는 국가 없이 균형 있게 발전할 수 있도록 지원 체계를 강화하겠습니다. 아시아가 단합할 때 세계 태권도의 표준이 만들어집니다.
둘째, 태권도의 가치를 현대적으로 재해석하고 혁신하겠습니다. 전통적인 무도 정신은 굳건히 지키되, AI와 디지털 기술을 접목한 경기 운영과 e-스포츠 태권도의 활성화를 통해 젊은 세대와 소통하는 역동적인 스포츠로 거듭나겠습니다.
셋째, 현장 중심의 소통 경영을 실천하겠습니다. 본부의 문턱을 낮추고 각국 협회의 목소리에 귀를 기울여, 실질적인 도움이 되는 정책을 추진하겠습니다. 지도자들의 권익과 선수들의 미래를 최우선으로 생각하는 연맹이 되겠습니다.
존경하는 태권도 가족 여러분!
태권도의 뿌리는 아시아에 있고, 그 꽃은 여러분의 땀방울로 피어납니다. 저 김상진과 아시아태권도연맹은 여러분이 자부심을 느끼며 활동할 수 있도록 든든한 버팀목이 되겠습니다.
올 한 해도 우리 모두 '백절불굴(百折不屈)'의 정신으로 힘차게 나아갑시다.
